MY TOP 20 SONGS FOR 2011

#OkHello

Wow 2011 was a great year for the Nigerian music industry from the talented humans to the weist products. 2011 was more of the hippy ish for me so my list would be dominated with dance tunes but not to it is well rounded. My criterion was on the number of plays on my itunes basically and how sweet the song was. In no particular order here’s my list

1.       HOTTIE; Hottie by Eva remains one of the most played song on my playlist. With the beautiful instrumental by Sossick, and beautiful delivery, Eva sealed it for me

2.       Dami Duro; If am not wrong this has to be the club banger of the year. With shizzi on the beat and Davido doing his thing, the only thing I would say is “EMA DAMI DURO”

3.       Mukulu; I LOVES SKALES!!! Giving us a little diversity, he flipped the commercial tune well and the mukulu dance rocks!

4.       Getting mine;” I’m fly am fresh” getting mine by Zuki featuring Olu legend is a solid hip rap track that makes you see another future in Nigerian’s rap.

5.       For me; I don’t like wizkid but the combo with wande coal produced an inevitable banger which I couldn’t resist.

6.       Without my heart; Tiwa savage shows the real her on this track and am loving it and Donjazzy shows FL is not his only forte

7.       Salute; This jam damnnnnn! Shank put jazz into this thing and sarz went bonkers on the beat.

8.       Kako bi chiken; In my opinion the razzest song this year but “jonziest” song this year also. The reminisce and sarz combo was a deadly blow.

9.       Angeli; Vector can never escape my list. This time he teams up with 9ice and easily became one of my favourites. The video is also on point

10.   The way you are (Cover); My dear Ese Peters had to make this list yo! With the beautiful guitar he recreates another classic from a classic you dig?

11.   Higher; I seriously don’t understand the Sarz jazz this year though but I have five songs on this list produced by sarz! Eldee hooked me with this track.

12.   Magic; the LOS boys are talented and new. This track was truly magical and shank did his thing.

13.   ARA; Brymo’s first single and I can tell this choc boy is not ready to play! Beautiful song from a beautiful artist.

14.   Your Fada; EVAAAA gave me one of the best collabos this year. Your fada features the popular Chi Gurl, Basketmouth and Ikechkuwu. The question remains can you stone your fada?

15.   Mary and me; Am not a junkie but when I croon this song, I sound like one. Tasti worked super magic on this and went dipppp!

16.   Omoge ; Sammy oh Sammy! Beautiful song from a beautiful voice. This sure couldn’t miss my list

17.   Superstar; My love for this song is unending even though the video almost crushed my love for it.

18.   Omo Naija; Do you know Phenom? Anyways he Is one rapper I think 2012 should be ready for .

19.   Sorry Song; The most played gospel song on my playlist. Contradiction’s voice gives me hope that God would always forgive a sinner like me

20.   The way I do; I love this song because of the retro feeling to it and the blend of old and new to produce something sweet. Oji did a very beautiful job this one.

I loved so many songs this year and it was hard for me to choose so I stuck to the number of plays on my itunes. If you are angry with it errrrrr do your own hehehe
